About the Event

FARMERS’ MARKET The Farmers’ Market will be open starting at 8:00am.

MISSOURI STATE GIANT PUMKIN WEIGH-IN The Missouri Department of Agriculture will be on hand to supervise the Giant Pumpkin Weigh-In. This event is open to all that want to haul in their gigantic gourd! There is a $10.00 entry fee and pre-registration is encouraged, please contact the Chamber, 636.239.2715, or Downtown Washington, Inc., 636.239.1743, for forms. 1st place - $250.00 2nd place - $100.00 3rd place - $50.00

SEED SPITTIN’ CONTEST How far can you spit a pumpkin seed? Try your luck for FREE and see if you can beat the top distance. Check-in begins at 11:00am and the spittin’ starts at 11:30am.

CONCESSIONS There will be food, soft drinks and beer will be available for purchase during the event.

BOOTHS We are happy to have the First Christian Church of Washington with carnival games and a photo booth from 12pm-4pm. Plus H&R Block will be there with a face painting booth.

CANDY CRAWL The downtown merchants will be welcoming trick-or-treaters from 12pm-4pm. Show off your costumes for a treat!

PUMPKIN ROLL Have you ever raced a pumpkin? Well that’s what we will be doing! For a $2.00 entry fee you can race your decorated pumpkin down Cedar Street. Registration is at noon and the roll starts at 12:30pm. Pre-registration is encouraged; please contact the Chamber, 636.239.2715, or Downtown Washington, Inc., 636.239.1743, for forms.

GREAT PUMPKIN DECORATING CONTEST Carved, dressed up, painted or bedazzled. We are looking for the best decorated pumpkin in town. This event is open to all ages and will have exciting prizes donated by Citizen’s Bank of Washington. This contest is FREE and will begin at 2pm.

PUMPKIN PIE BAKING CONTEST Do you think that your pumpkin pie is the best around? Enter it into this contest for FREE and find out! We have an amateur and professional division. Please have your pie at the Farmers’ Market by 1:30pm. Pre-registration is encouraged; please contact the Chamber, 636.239.2715, or Downtown Washington, Inc., 636.239.1743, for forms.

ANYTHING BUT PUMPKIN PIE CONTEST Muffins, pumpkin butter, pumpkin pasta or any other food you can come up with could win this FREE contest. We are looking for the most creative use of pumpkin. We have an amateur and professional division. Bring your non-pie pumpkin dish to the Farmers’ Market by 1:30pm to have it judged. ZOMBIES, ZOMBIES, ZOMBIES ZOMBIES will invade downtown Washington! They are quite unpredictable so we haven’t gotten all the details yet, but there will be dancing and chasing for sure! Check back for more details.

INDIVIDUAL COSTUME CONTEST This FREE contest lets the kids strut their stuff! The most creative costumes will take home fantastic prizes donated by Citizen’s Bank of Washington. Handmade costumes are encouraged. Please be at the Farmers’ Market by 4:00pm.

AMILY COSTUME CONTEST The Farmer in the Dell, a family of Zombies, the cast of your favorite show or any other group of costumes would be great for this FREE contest. Handmade costumes are encouraged. Please be at the Farmers’ Market by 4:00pm.

AWARDS CEREMONY See all of the winners receive their ribbons or prizes at 4:30 at the Farmers’ Market.
